A trip to North Korea

Posted on Wednesday 30 November 2005 — evening time

The military demarcation line, as seen from the NorthI came across a quite entertaining travel report, written by a guy who visited the DPRK a few weeks ago. Apparently, visitors are no longer able to enter the little blue building at the military demarcation line where all meetings between delegates of North Korea and South Korea have taken place. The Americans seem to have put a padlock on the inside of the door at the North Korean side. I wonder why they’ve done that. I recon that it would be one of the highlights of a visit to the demilitarized zone. Furthermore, I was a bit fascinated by another thing that happened to him while having lunch.

Another song follows, then a third girl gets up to sing. This tune has a more strident beat, and pretty soon all the Westerners in the room are clapping gleefully along. And then the visuals kick in on the big screen. It’s all missile launches, marching soldiers and mushroom clouds. Christ knows what she’s singing about, but it ain’t Scaramouche, Scaramouche will you do the Fandango. Immediately we’re all exchanging ‘WTF?’ looks and trying not to look like it’s the most surreal moment of our lives, but the atmosphere it the room has just been cranked up several notches.

Well, you visited my site, so I had to visit yours. Very cute senario by the way- I adore the way you write- seems very similar to the way you would speak- I like that in a website.

      Thanks for the compliment. :)

If I would experience something like the scenario above, I would be totally flabbergasted!

Dude, really, you keep on pushing right? You just won’t accept “NO” for an answer, right? :p

By the way, we missed you today @ Subways, it’s Subwayday as any selfrespecting humanbeing knows and you weren’t there! It doesn’t matter if your teeth are falling out of your head! You know what you did to us? We ordered 15 (FIFTEEN!!) cookies (al cookies in the tray, but three) and ate them all by ourselves. Damnit! I feel sick, I think I’m gonna puke, thank you!
